Hello — I'm Ed, the founder and developer of Spent.
I always struggled to see where my money was actually going each month. I tried spreadsheets, got AI to summarise things — but I kept missing that at-a-glance view that actually helps you make better decisions with your money.
Other apps felt like homework. Too many features I'd never use, too much setup, too much friction. I wanted something simple — say what I spent, see the whole month, know exactly where the money's going. That's it.
Knowing your spending limits is how you save effectively. My goal with Spent is to give people clarity — not complexity.
As a software engineer I decided to build my own solution and share it with the world. I designed Spent to be completely private and anonymous from day one — your financial information is nobody else's business. Everything you add saves locally on your device and syncs only to your own private iCloud. The app will never ask for any personal information. No sign-up, no bank login, no identity.
